Event Description
The annual HMSC picnic will take place at Tsukisamu Park on the July 17th holiday. We will meet at the gazebo, next to the uphill parking lot, which can be entered from Hitsujigaokadori. Please refer to the map on the Tsukisamu Park website in English: https://tsukisamu-park.jp/lang/en/.
Someone will be there from 8:30 am. You are free to come and go as you please.
In general, the time from 9:00 to 11:00 will be to explore the park and/or take time to visit with each other. There are some nice walking trails throughout the large park.
From 11:00to 13:00, will be lunch time. Please bring your own food and drink.
For those coming by subway, the nearest station is Misono on the Toho line. From there you would walk to the Main Entrance of the Park, located near the pond.
In case of rain, the picnic will be held Saturday July 22. In the event of potential bad weather, there will be an email sent out to members by 8:00 on the morning of July 17th indicating whether the picnic will happen.
This event is open to the public. Come out and enjoy the beautiful park while socializing with others.

Summary
This year the weather allowed the HMSC Annual Picnic to be held as planned on Monday, July 17, Marine Day from 9:00 am to 13:00. Twelve members were able to come out and enjoy catching up plus two guests joined us. The weather was fine and we could enjoy walks in the park at different times throughout the morning. It was only as we were all leaving that sprinkles of rain started falling.
Although some small groups took walks from time to time, for the most part, we all simply relaxed and enjoyed hearing how things were going for each other. Socializing was the main event! It was great to meet new people and catch up with familiar faces. We look forward to gathering again next year!
