Sleep is vital for physical and mental health, but 20 to 25 % of Japanese have sleep problems. Insomnia is a risk factor of depression, hypertension, hyperlipidemia and diabetes. And these diseases cause insomnia, resulting in a vicious cycle. The diagnosis of the cause of sleep problems is critical for proper and effective treatment.
